KALI: Reverence & Rebellion

Curated by Gayatri Sinha, the exhibition traces Kali’s earliest depictions in painting to the 5th century Puranic text, the Devi Mahatmyam, through to twentieth century works of artists like Satish Gujral, G R Santosh, Rabin Mondal, Nirode Mazumdar and Laxma Goud, among others.

It depicts the goddess in her multiple avatars and across regions, convincingly establishing her continuing fascination as a deeply engaging subject in art.
